Today is nothing but fun here at IHeart Organizing! I recently celebrated my eighth year of blogging (!) and I really wanted to do something special to thank you all for sticking around over the years. I know that sometimes things are exciting, sometimes they are not, sometimes we are knee deep in DIY, sometimes we need to breathe, sometimes I am working my way through piles of clutter, and sometimes I am letting it just pile. There are days that I could chat with you all for hours and others that I have an intense bout of writer's block. That said, I love this special place and it wouldn't be what it is without Y O U !
So welcome to the final round of the giveaway filled day featuring many of my favorite organizing companies and supplies. This final product is my new travel bff. And I don't just mean traveling on an airplane or train or even in an automobile. This baby now goes everywhere I go with my laptop, including the coffee shop, the library, and client's homes.
I was recently introduced to a local-to-me but ships-to-everyone handbag company called Austin | Fowler.
You guys, this bag (the Reagan) is beyond beautiful! I recently took this herringbone and cognac stunner to NYC on a work trip and I received an abundance of compliments. It perched up on my rolling suitcase nicely, and also fit under the airplane seat without any need to tip it or slide it in sideways. I am not sure I have ever found a bag that could do that, so that was a highlight of a mundane travel day.
The bag is designed to be transitional from a diaper bag to work tote, and I wish I would have had something like this as a young mom with three little guys. So many pockets! But more on that in a moment.
I use this generally for work but it also makes a wonderful everyday bag. It is structured with so much built-in storage. A pretty perk is that it fits my 15" Macbook Pro with room to spare, as well as my discbound notebook and weekly planner binder.
The outside of the tote has two gold zippered pockets and two additional end pockets as well. These outer pockets are a great place to keep your phone and wallet, it also sports a spring clip for keys. That is especially great for me because my keys are always lost at the bottom of my purses and bags.
The interior of the bag is PINK! My favorite! I really appreciate how sophisticated, timeless and classic the exterior of the bag is, looking all regal with its blue herringbone fabric and leather straps. And then surprise, it's a total party on the inside!
Inside of the bag, I found four snap-in pouches; two full-sized and two divided (to make four). And those pouches have interchangeable, labeled zippers.
I only opted to use the two divided pouches for now, and I snapped them in on each side of my laptop. One pouch works to hold cords, the next is for my smaller tech gear (external hard drive, battery cell, spare batteries, etc...), another for small snacks like gum and mints and headache medicine, and the last holds a few cosmetics such as lip gloss, hand lotion and face mist.
Up until recently, every other tote and bag that I owned was typically organized by pouches or else it would become a jumbled black hole. This handbag could be compared to a drawer with really great drawer dividers that don't shift when the drawer opens and closes. The flexible pouch dividers make me think for a second when putting things away, and they stay neat and in place because they snap in. I like that it slows me down a little and I don't just toss things inside willy-nilly.
Can you imagine how great this would be for diapers, wipes, bottles, spare clothes, blankets, lotions, and pacifiers?
This bag has truly made my life a bit easier and happier and I just feel more organized everywhere I go. And I absolutely can't wait to give one of these to one of you!!
