Menu Plan Monday, February 25th

Menu Plan Monday, February 25th

It’s Monday again and time to plan our meals for the week. Planning your meals can help you save money by eating at home instead of eating out. Need a few meal ideas? Check out what’s cooking at our house this week…

Menu plan with recipe links

My son will be so excited about one of our dinner’s this week.

He loves and I mean loves hamburgers. This week we will be making them at home for dinner. I think the homemade burgers are better than just about any you can get while eating out.

I’ll be making baked fries to go with the burgers.

The rest of the week will be easy dinners. The easy sesame chicken is a recipe was a big hit, so it’s back on the menu for this week too. This recipe is definitely a keeper.

You should really give it a try, I’m sure your family will like it too.

We are continuing to use up the leftover Christmas ham from the freezer again this week. Surprisingly we aren’t tired of it yet.

Our lunches look a little boring this week. Well, all except the pizza cups. Some weeks it’s hard to decide what to have for lunch.

Breakfast will be the usual during the week, but on the weekends we’ll be having sticky buns. They are so quick and easy to make, but oh so good. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it.

Here’s what’s cooking at our house this week

Menu Plan Monday, February 18th

It’s the start of a new week and time to make our meal plans. This week we are having one of our family’s favorites. See the full meal plan below…

Menu plan with recipe links

This week we are having our favorite meal, pizza. My family just loves pizza and it’s really inexpensive to make at home.

We will also be having a ham dinner again this week to try to use up the ham that’s been hanging out in the freezer since Christmas. Got to use it up.

We’ll be enjoying a couple of chicken dinners this week too. Chicken is always a good choice for a frugal meal when you can find it on sale. We’ll be having barbecued chicken from the freezer.

And an easy sheet pan dinner of sweet chili chicken. I love that I only have to prep the vegetable and chicken, put it in the oven and then let it bake. It gives me time to do other things while it cooks.

My son was asking about having egg noodles. I’ll be making beef and noodles this week for lunch since we love it so much and it’s easy to make too.

For breakfasts on the weekend, I’ll bake a batch of baked maple bars. If you haven’t ever made them at home they are so good. You’ll have to give them a try.

Happy Monday! Are you ready for a new week? If you need to plan your meals for this week maybe what’s cooking at my house can help. Scroll down for a few dinner ideas…

Menu plan with recipe links

We have quite a bit of ham slices leftover from Christmas, in the freezer. This month we will be having ham about once a week to use it up. This week will have ham slice with mashed potatoes on the side.

I’m also making a few slow cooker dishes this week too. If you are looking for an easy pork dinner to make in the slow cooker, give the cranberry pork roast a try.

It’s simple to put together but so good. Even fancy enough for a holiday dinner, maybe for Easter?

My kids picked spaghetti for dinner and we will be having that for one dinner.

My son really wanted chicken tenders this week, so we will be having some for lunch. I’ll also be making a favorite for breakfast this week, sausage breakfast sandwiches. They are easy to make and freeze really well for a quick breakfast.

If you need a super simple dinner try the chili baked potatoes. You can make your own chili from scratch or use a can of chili if you are short on time. Our whole family really loves this dinner and I love how easy it is to make.

Here’s what’s cooking at our house this week

Menu Plan Monday, February 4th

Menu Plan Monday, February 4th

It’s Monday and time to think about what you’ll be cooking this week. Having a plan can help you to eat more at home, eat out less and save money too. Need a few dinner ideas to add to your meal plan? Take a peek at what’s cooking at our house this week. Menu plan with recipe links

Do you love bean soup? The slow cooker white bean soup recipe on our meal plan this week is really good. We tried it last year and it is one we eat often now.

I try to make soups fairly often, in the winter, they are a great way to serve a hearty meal, without breaking the bank.

One of our favorite freezer meals is Italian chicken. It’s super simple to make for the freezer and just as easy to prepare.

This time around I’ll be baking it in the oven along with the roasted potatoes for dinner. But in the summer it can be grilled or cooked in the slow cooker.

Whenever I’m making chicken for the freezer I always make at least 3 packages of Italian chicken since we love it so much.

If you have bone in or boneless chicken thighs another great recipe is the garlic and herb chicken we are having this week.

The sausage and vegetable sheet pan dish is a simple and easy dinner too. Cut  up the vegetables and place them on the sheet pan. Into the oven and in just a bit dinner is ready.

Since it’s still rainy here, I’ll make our brown sugar steaks under the broiler but this dinner is also great grilled too.

Talking about grilling is sure making me want the nice warmer days of spring to get here soon.

Here’s what’s cooking at our house this week

Dinners

Spaghetti with Homemade Pasta Sauce, Salad, and Garlic Bread

Sausage and Vegetable Sheet Pan Dinner, Salad, and Fruit

Italian Chicken, Roasted Potatoes, and Green Beans

Slow Cooker White Bean Soup, Bread, and Fruit

Easy to make and freeze Garlic and Herb Chicken Thighs | Frugal Family Home

Garlic and Herb Chicken, Mashed Potatoes, and Salad

Brown Sugar Steaks, Baked Potatoes, and Salad

Chicken Marsala, Egg Noodles, and Salad

Lunches

Leftover most days

Grilled Sandwiches, Chips, and Fruit

Homemade Mac and Cheese, Salad, and Fruit

Breakfast

I don’t think you can ever have too many breakfast recipes. This chocolate chip scone recipe is one of our favorites. These chocolate chip sones have no heavy cream, in fact they are dairy free scones. Another plus is you can make them in the skillet, so you don’t have to heat up the house on warmer days to bake them.

Toast, Eggs and Oatmeal

Waffles, Sausage, and Eggs

Dairy Free Chocolate Chip Scones, Eggs, and Sausage

Menu Plan Monday, January 28th

Menu Plan Monday, January 28th

Is your meal plan ready for the last week of January? I’ve got ours planned and it has some easy and delicious dinners on it.

If you need a few dinner ideas just scroll down to see what we’ll be eating this week…

Menu plan with recipe links

I can’t believe this first month of the year is almost gone.  Pretty soon we will be having great weather and working out in the yard. I can’t wait.

This week on our menu plan is a new recipe for us, chicken taco bowls. Since my family loves Mexican food I’m sure it will be a big hit.

The rest of our dinner plan is full of family favorites, like pizza and twice baked taco potatoes.

I always have high hopes to be able to put away a few of the twice baked taco potatoes but we never have any leftovers even when I make a double batch.

I’ll be making cheesy ham and potatoes this week to use up some of the ham hanging out in my freezer. It is so good and I have dairy free options too, so even if you need to eat dairy free you can enjoy this easy slow cooker dish.

Lunches will be more of the usual for us this week. Although I will be making grilled sandwiches one day for lunch. My son is sure to love them.

Breakfasts will be our usual every weekday toast and eggs with maybe rice cereal if we have rice leftover from dinner.

Here’s what’s cooking at our house this week

Dinners

Yummy and Delicious Recipe for Hoisin Meatballs, Frugal Family Home

Hoisin Meatballs, Rice, and Stir Fry Vegetables

Chicken Taco Bowls, Chips and Salsa, and Fruit

If tacos and twice baked potatoes had a baby this would be eat. Creamy, cheesy and a little spicy all at the same time. It's also an easy dinner recipe to make.

Twice Baked Taco Potatoes, Salad, and Fruit

Crock Pot Cheesy Ham and Potatoes, Salad, and Fruit

Chicken Marsala, Egg Noodles, Salad, and Fruit

Pizza and Salad

Chicken Stir Fry with Rice

Lunches

Leftover most days

Tacos, Chips, and Salsa

Grilled Sandwiches and Soup

Breakfast

This whole wheat pancake recipe is easy to make and healthy too. It doesn’t contain eggs or oil. You can make it dairy free by using almond milk or another non dairy milk. It’s a great weekend breakfast but fast enough to be made on a weekday too. Even though these pancakes are made with whole wheat, they are light and fluffy. Come see what the secret is to making them fluffy instead of heavy and dense.

Toast, Eggs, and Oatmeal

Whole Wheat Pancakes, Eggs, and Sausage

Jam Danish, Eggs and Sausage

It’s meal planning time! If you meal plan I’d love to hear what you are eating this week. Or if you need a few easy dinner ideas check out what’s cooking at our house this week below…

Menu plan with recipe links

I have a confession to make. My freezer is so stuffed full right now, I can’t really fit much more in. I really want to purchase a pork loin to make pork chops.

We are almost out of pork chops,  but I don’t see where I could possibly fit them in right now.

I have a bunch of chicken and lots of ham from the two ham holiday dinners I made. Along with all the frozen fruit, vegetables, and smoothie packs, the freezer is just stuffed full.

To help with our bulging freezer situation we will be eating some of our meals from the freezer this week.

I’ll be making soup for lunch at least once this week, to use up some of the soup kits, I made over the last couple of months.

I also need to sort through some of the baked goods that are on the top shelf of the freezer. Some of them have been in there for a while and may need to go.

Breakfasts will be the usual, toast and eggs, during the week with some special breakfasts on the weekends.

I’m planning on making cinnamon twists and waffles this week.

What’s on your menu plan for this week?

Here’s what’s cooking at our house this week

Menu Plan Monday, December 31st

Menu Plan Monday, December 31st

We have come to the last menu plan for the year of 2018. I can’t believe tomorrow it will be the new year. If one of your goals for this year is to eat at home more often, meal planning can make that happen.

See what’s cooking at our house this week below…

Menu plan with recipe links

For this last menu plan for the year of 2018 we are sticking with comfort food.

This week our menu plan has some great comfort foods I love to make.

We will be having a snack type lunch this week along with a snack type dinner on New Year’s Eve. A snack type lunch is something  my kids love to have once in a while. We fill a plate with lunchmeat, cheese, cracker, fruit slice and vegetable sticks.

My son has certain things that he has to have on his plate for our snack lunch. One of the items is a piece of bread with butter on top, cut into 4 squares. It’s so simple but he loves it so much.

Most mornings our breakfasts will be our usual, toast and eggs. But on the weekends, I like to make something a little special for my family.

This weekend it will be our standby favorite, pancakes and then omelets which is my husband’s favorite breakfast.

If you have picky eaters, let them help plan the meals, it gives them a little control and can help them not be so picky at meals.

Here’s what’s cooking at our house this week

Dinners

Easy dinner solution, Chili Baked Potato Bar

Snack Dinner for New Years Eve, Cheese, Cracker, Beef Stick, Pringles, Vegetable Sticks, and Dip

Chili Baked Potato Bar, Salad, and Fruit

Christmas is this week. I’ll be making two kinds of twice baked potatoes and ham for our Christmas dinner. Along with a batch of the yummy and easy to make quick dinner rolls.

We have lots of candy and cookies that I’ve made for dessert too.

We are having a snack dinner for tonight, Christmas Eve. It’s so easy to make. I love to have an easy to make dinner the night before Christmas, since I know I’ll be cooking a bunch on Christmas Day.

The rest of our menu is full of easy to make dinners. The pan fried pork chops are so easy to make. They turn out crisp and flavorful on the outside and juicy on the inside.

We love the sesame chicken recipe from Budget Bytes and we’ll be making that this week.
